Bacteriological analysis

● Coliform group, escherichia coli
● Viable bacteria
● Legionella bacteria
● Pathogenic escherichia coli -157

● Fecal-coliform
● Anaerobic spore bacteria
● Cryptosporidium and Giardia.

Although infectious disease like food poisoning pathogen E-Coli O-157 and avian influenza have come under the spot light recently, there are many other disease-causing bacteria. In our bacteriological lab, analysis of bacteria is performed to prevent such infectious disease, and utilize the data as a guidance to protect our living environment from being contaminated by keeping wastewater standards and environmental standards.

・Analysis of Legionella bacteria

Test material taken from hot spring water, circulating water, cooling tower is analyzed at a safety cabinet. (by applying test material to culture medium for visual examination)
・Analysis of coliform group

Coliform group in environmental water like river water, sea water and etc. is analyzed by MPN (most probably number) method, which provides index to detect contamination by human waste (faeces) and industrial liquid waste.

・Analysis of cryptosporidium and Giardia.

A researcher analyzes cryptosporidium and giardia, parasites living in clean water or raw water by observing concentrated and colored sample. And then differential interference observation is performed, throwing light on the sample, by the fluorescence microscope to figure out their structures.
